The A Level Art course explores exciting experimental artistic processes and techniques within Art, Craft and Design. Year 1 covers a wide range of skills including drawing, painting, printmaking, life drawing, sculpture, 3D design, graphics, new media and creative software.

Learners gather primary research from the world around them, visiting local and national galleries to inform their practice.

Year 2 comprises of a Personal Investigation where learners produce unique responses to their chosen theme, and an Exam Inquiry where they respond to a theme given to them. Both of these projects help learners to create a refined visual language that communicates their ideas through effective application of the formal elements of art and design.

A Level Art learners at this centre have been praised for their in depth contextual practice, which explores historical and contemporary artists, and gives good attention to the purpose, meaning and context of their work.
