Culture Clash - The Swinging 60s
Fluorescent orange 100% cotton fabric with a black fabric painted flower onto the cotton.
I have explored the subcultural identity of the 1960s period/Swinging 60s, the mods and rockers combined with my love for 1920’s flapper girls..
During my findings I had been influenced by Mary Quant and Emilio Pucci. Pucci is renowned for his use of bright colours and is known as ‘the king of prints. Quant created the infamous mini skirt so when creating my two-piece, I decided to make the mini skirt to relate to her work. It was my intention to re-design the concept and pattern of Mary Quants aesthetic.
