Surface and Form

For my final major project, I have explored the idea of shape through movement of the body. Participating in aesthetically pleasing sports, such as aerial hoop acrobatics and dance, played a big factor in this project as it allowed me to look deeper into the shapes I make with my body. This led to taking the approach of kinetic art, one that I have not previously explored but thoroughly enjoyed investigating. I studied different techniques and medias to achieve a range of mark making and imagery, some of which I had no idea would end up as outcomes, but I felt were raw and exciting!
My main exploration ended up being based around lines formed from movement; the quality, colour and shapes made. This was carried out on a variety of scales, from 30cm to over 6feet, which allowed the differentiation of results seen.
