With a deep-rooted connection to the coast that embodies most of my childhood memories Sand Bay has become a main source of inspiration for my art. I use my daily walks and photography to help capture the influences I see within the landscape.
Due to lockdown I have used by prior acquired skills in ceramic and saggar firing techniques and adapted this developmental aesthetic further through an experimental approach on plaster of Paris.
I have created a variety of outcomes with the addition of printing, waxing, stitching and rusting which I have arranged compositionally into an abstract, emotive and reflective art piece combining metaphorical threads on environmental issues and current sensibilities.
