Faculty of Inclusive Practice

Foundation Learning offers a wide range of inspiring, innovative and high quality individualised programmes for learners who have previously had difficulties in engaging with education due to experiencing a diverse range of barriers to learning. The faculty prides itself on providing young people with SEND with the attitude, commitment, resilience and determination they need for work and life. All programmes of study involve a choice to participate in Creative Arts where they gain an understanding of the impact of qualifications, enterprise and creativity on their future aspirations. This provides opportunities to progress onto higher level study within Creative Arts where aspirations align.

The Foundation Learning course provision includes:

  • Entry and Transitional School Link programmes

  • Sensory Learning Base

  • Preparation for Work and Life

  • Extension Studies

  • Weston Bay - Specialist Autism Provision

Prevocational Creative Arts

The Prevocational Creative Arts course aims to give learners an insight into what studying art might look like if they transitioned onto a level one course next year.

The intention of the course is that learners will be able to practice and develop a range of different skills including; maintaining a scrap book, exploring different art movements, experimenting with photography, learning adobe creative packages and being able to evaluate and reflect.

Progress2

A Foundation Learning programme designed to re-engage young people with a positive and supportive learning environment by exploring a range of subjects. Art sessions incorporate creative mindfulness activities and projects tailored to meet individual needs and interests.
