Year:
Graphic Design, Year 2
My name is Dan. I'm a second-year graphic design student and presented here are a few snippets of my work from this academic year. As part of our Social Impact project, I focussed on Dyslexia and its connection to working memory through a poster campaign for Made By Dyslexia. Working memory is where current information is being received and processed. Within Dyslexia, working memory lacks the ability to link to long-term memory and the campaign aim to explain how this works as well as trying to boost confidence in people with Dyslexia. Incorporating a famous quote from Albert Einstein, also a Dyslexic, portrays this aim brilliantly; “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” As you can probably tell, this quote helped me to create a visual representation of how it feels to go through school a as Dyslexic.
