Students on our BA (Hons) Lens Based Media top up complete their degree pathway by building on everything they have learnt in their FdA, both academic and practical, and then focusing it into a final ambitious project of their choice. Alongside this they hone the knowledge and industry awareness needed to forge a successful career in the vibrant and growing creative industries.
Photography is playing an ever-increasing role in our lives and the Foundation Degree in Photography in Practice helps students to develop the practical, academic and professional skills required to pursue freelance practice or work within the wider creative industries.
Much of the work you see here was created during the COVID-19 lockdown and reflects our students’ diverse responses to the challenging time spent in isolation.
This two-year course covers a variety of photographic disciplines using a creative, theoretical and practical approach. During the course, students get to grips with the fundamentals of photography including visual language and camera skills. Projects are designed to simulate live client briefs and allow students to experience working in different genres of photography.
